Participation Donation

Donations and fundraising directly benefit all of our students. These monies fund our art and music programs, as well as field trips, enrichment centers, electives, and classroom materials. Here are a few ways that you can help support these programs and keep them going as we continue to grow.

  • Suggested annual parent donation of $400 per child K-5 and/or $500 per child 6-8
  • Opt out of fundraising for the year with a flat donation
  • Match gifts from a family’s employer or business
  • Monetary donations unrelated to a specific event

Each parent, before coming to Indigo, and during their time here (during General Meetings, etc.) are educated as to the need and purpose of these funds. These funds give us what we need to provide teachers, students and parents what is necessary to make Indigo the school you “chose” above a public school where most of these programs cannot be provided. You would find these same extras in a private school but they would come at a significantly higher cost. Our Participation Donations have increased very little in the 9 years of the program.

Please also understand that our fundraising money also goes to our program’s budget but does not cover participation donation deficits. They are to help allow all parents to help with the fundraising according to a timeline that works for their family and also helps them to include extended family, friends, etc. to help in being a part of earning those additional funds.

Each parent should come into our program fully understanding the expectations needed in order to run this program for their child, both financially and in volunteer hours. It does not help anymore to look at the percentage of parents that have paid or not paid. It is up to each individual family to take action to meet their own participation donation and come up with a plan to where you can fulfill your part in helping us meet our goals. We recognize that it can be difficult for families who are struggling. We have different forms of payment options to help with that. It is a re-occurring cost that hopefully can be budgeted for each year so that a one time payment is not as overwhelming.

Indigo continues to grow and to be a school where parents seek to bring their children for the many advantages that are provided here. It would be tragic to have to diminish all the wonderful opportunities that we have created for our students because we cannot meet our financial commitments.

We thank you for your continued support.

Corporate Matching

Many employers sponsor a matching gift programs, matching any charitable contribution made by their employees. Conditions and criteria for gift matching vary by employer. To find out if your company has a matching gift program, please contact your employer (Human Resources Department). Additionally, if you are not sure if Indigo qualifies for your company’s gift matching program, contact Indigo’s Free Money Lead Indy Greer at indygeer@yahoo.com for assistance.

How it works: If your employer does offer this program, your Human Resources department should provide you with a matching gift form to submit to Indigo along with your donation. We do the rest! The impact of your donation to our school may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. The Indigo Program PTA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.

All you do is clip the box tops from participating products. Then put the box tops into a bag or envelope and drop them into the donation box located in the Indigo office.

eScrip

How it works: Visit eScrip.com and register any one, or all of the following: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, debit/ATM and some merchant credit cards (like Office Max) for use in the program. Designate “OGSD Indigo Program” as the school benefiting from your purchases. A percentage of your sales will go to Indigo, just by using a registered card with a participating merchant. Examples include Food4Less, Lunardis, American Airlines and an assortment of cruise lines (Carnival, Disney, Princess and Royal Caribbean). Check eScrip.com for a complete list of merchants. Your purchases are tracked and viewable at eScrip.com, so you can see how much you’ve earned for Indigo!

Safeway:

To have your Safeway purchases qualify for eScrip, you will need a Safeway Club Card, called “Just for U” (register at www.safeway.com or at a local Safeway store). Cards are free. Then register your club card with eScrip. Each time a Safeway purchase is made using your club card AND payment is made via cash, check, debit or gift card, Indigo receives a percentage of the sale. (Credit card purchases do not apply.)

I signed up for eScrip last year, so I’m all set. Right?
NO! Your eScrip registration needs to be renewed annually! Each year, customers must renew their membership between August 1st and November 1st in order for Indigo to continue receiving contributions! Plus, be sure to update your account when you switch to a new credit card or change cards.

Can family members register their cards?
YES! Parents, teachers, friends and families are encouraged to sign up! There are participating retailers all across the United States. Have them register at eScrip.com.

Can I enroll my spouse’s bank card under my name?
YES! All household family cards can be listed under one eScrip ID. If both spouses have the same credit card number, you only need to list it once. If they have different card numbers, list all card numbers.

Nob Hill:

How it works: First, you will need to be a member of Nob Hill’s Something Extra rewards program. This is a cardless rewards program, with most people using their phone number as their account number. If you’re not already a member, you can enroll here.

Then, you will need to enroll in Nob Hill’s eScrip program, Extra Credit, by signing into your Something Extra account and going to “Something Extra” on the menu bar and selecting “Extra Credit”. Then designate “Indigo” as the school benefiting from your purchases. That’s it! Just do your regular shopping using your Something Extra account number at check-out, and a percentage of your purchase will go to Indigo.
